A giant sucking sound called insecurity

The world spent $166 billion battling viruses, spyware and recovering from hacking attacks last year, according to a mi2g study.

To place this into comparison, we would have needed the entire country of Denmark or the Czech Republic working on battling computer insecurity, based on the size of the gross domestic products.

The world premier computer security conference RSA Conference is coming to San Francisco in two weeks from now. This little tidbit of information should make for some interesting conversation among those working in the multi billion dollar security industry over their grotesque failure. Your Silicon Valley Sleuth will bring his magnifying glass to the event and dig for dirt.
