Think different

I can't help but feeling a bit jittery every time when a counter movement becomes the mainstream movement. That's mainly because revolutions have a pretty tough time behaving in a civilized manner once they reach the stage of absolute power.

Just think of the great mess that the communists created, or chaos created by the Republican party under Bush.

It's great news for Apple that Macs are dominating this class room at the Missouri School of Journalism. But for heaven's sake, can we please get some Ubuntu in there to ensure diversity?

Well, one out of three ain't bad. Apple computers - it's the best, so all rebels should use them. It's only an abstract idea that everyone shouldn't use something. It can be different in the real world.

As for Dubya, it's the hysterical reaction to him that created the chaos, not he himself.

I think you mean "civilised manner" - not "civilised matter". If you didn't you might try a remedial course over the holiday season.

So how would you suggest one react to someone like W? Fanboy blather.

Diversity is the life's blood of freedom. Whenever one side or the other gets too strong, things go to crap. The current Bushwackers, the Nixonistas, the arrogant Democratic Congresses of the past as examples. Still, Apple rising to the status of one third marketshare at some universities doesn't approach the level required for arrogance and abuse — Microsoft still commands two-thirds. Of course, Microsoft has never abused it's power. Nah.

As for the comments by neo-fascists like Xune, can you feel their grasp of the body politic waning?

Great photo. I think its great that Apple has come back when everyone thought they were dead - The iPod brought to the masses what good design is all about and it should be a wake up call for Microsoft. I do LOVE Ubuntu though and all it stands for and I hope that Ubuntu starts to be used more and more and more. Competition is good!

@Xune: so how is it in your small dark space...all alone? methinks you speak from recent experience. If not, get some yourself. There, as a pedant you should appreciate the directness.
